With 2012 just around the corner it seemed the perfect time to embark on a 100 day raw food journey. The raw food lifestyle has been tugging at me for some time now so it's time to give it a blast! This blog will give me a space to debrief the journey day by day and the reasons for it, which will no doubt unfold. My own health journey is an obvious one, I want to explore how well I run 'on raw' and improve my commitment to the wisdom of Hippocrates: "Let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food." I am also concerned about the general levels of health in Australia - once known for our healthy, active outdoor lifestyle we are now competing for world heavyweight whilst battling an epidemic of diabetes and heart disease - both which could be resolved if we simply fuelled up properly and got moving again! I love the words of Gandhi - "Be the change you want to see in the world." I'd love you to join me on the journey! The next few days I will be preparing with departure date set for 3 January 2012 starting with a cleansing juice feast and then moving into a fuller raw food pallete... (the cake in the picture is a raw chocolate raspberry ganache I made for a raw food picnic last year - it was scrumptious!)
Thankyou for the inspiration Cara, I'm sure I will enjoy following your journey and will join in where possible with allowances for allergies I have to certain foods.
ReplyDeleteKind regards, Sue
oh wow hey Sue! thanks for stopping by - welcome along! I'm going to need to visit Miss Jess @ boonah for some classes real soon!
ReplyDeleteWow! My husband and I are so interested in raw food and basically eating as close to nature as possible. I like how you said juice feast not fast.. sounds much more inviting! The chocolate cake and raw food diet go hand in hand? Please let me know how!! If I can eat things like that and be healthy that would put more smiles on my dial!!
ReplyDeleteGreetings Maid Maron - yes there are many scrumptious things in the raw - we enjoyed a raw banquet in boonah a few months ago and I think we should organise a raw picnic with another friend is also into raw here in Sadliers Crossing xox
